Later with the naming thing

Posted on Thu May 4th, 2017 @ 9:43am by Lieutenant Natsuko Akayama & Lieutenant JG Kettly Duvalier

Mission: Shakedown
Location: Counseling Suites

When the door chime sounded, Duvalier rose to her feet and took a deep breath. She knew who it was based on the time. When she'd sent the message to Lt. Akayama, she'd half-expected a message back since the ship had been a bustling hotbed of activity, so she was quite pleased to hear the door chime. "Please come in," Kettly said, stepping around her desk so she could properly greet the woman.

The door slid open and the small chief of intelligence entered the room. "Counselor" She greeted the woman. "I believe you wished to speak with me?"

"Yes, thank you," She offered, holding out a hand to shake. "Lt. Kettly Duvalier. I wanted to have an informal meeting with you to cover Counselling's care for you and your department. I'm aware that there's a great deal of delicacy and care needed since you and your people handle sensitive information. Can I get you some tea while we talk?"

"That would be nice. Green Tea if you have it." Natsuko replied politely. "Most Intelligence officers go through counseling with Intelligence Counselors, but then all counselors are bound by confidentiality are they not?"

"Yes, actually. My worry was always in how long the wait was or the loss of the physical components of a subspace session. No matter how fully trained a person may be, there's a power in holding a hand or a touch on the arm that can get lost in the rush to be covert. I don't want myself or my staff to compromise your secrecy, just to ensure that you knew we were here and willing to help." Kettly called over her shoulder as she fetched the tea. "Any sugar?"

"No thank you." A small smile crossed Natsuko's lips. "I appreciate the offer counselor, and will make sure my staff are aware. I though understand that all crew must at least visit the counselors of their posting regardless of their department. For general things it will be sufficient to speak with you and your staff."

Kettly brought the tea over along with a cup for herself and settled in a chair opposite the intelligence officer. "That's good to know. Is there anything or anyone in specific in your staff that I might need to prioritize for a visit, or is everything going smoothly?"

Natsuko considered it for a moment. "No not to my knowledge. But I will make it known that my team should contact yours if there are issues."

"And how about you?" Kettly transitioned without missing a beat. "How are you doing?"

Natsuko nodded slightly "I am doing very well. This is going to be a very good assignment."
